  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's tertiary care and Level II Trauma Center, housing the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for managing the instrumentation, scopes, and equipment within the service line with a focus on high-level disinfection as well as sterility and best practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that staff understand and exhibit the basic principles of handling equipment and scopes appropriately, and keep informed of the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and performing high-level disinfection of scopes and equipment between cases.
  • In collaboration with the Endoscopy Clinical Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the education and follow-up on appropriate scope handling and documentation.
  • Assists with ordering and procurement of special service equipment and supplies, in a timely manner, to ensure proper high-level disinfection and/or sterilization.
  • Assists with educational activities and staff development programs.
  • Acts as a technical resource in a leadership role to address clinical performance, outcomes, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and cost containment.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist; Graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program; or Successful completion of an approved Surgical Tech training program, such as WeLearn Ready to Work Surgical Tech.

  • BLS certification.

  • Knowledge and skill of the function and handling of supportive/adaptive patient equipment and devices.
