QA Inspector

OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics has an opening for a QA Inspector. This individual is responsible for performing Final Inspection and Receiving Inspection. Supports shipping of final product. They will provide back-up support to the assembly department on an as-needed basis. Additionally, they may be engaged to assist the QA team with miscellaneous projects.

• Visually inspects and tests final product nonconformance (e.g. loose mounts and fiber kinks) and places product barcodes and laser ratings per QIP and customer specifications prior to shipping. Routes defective product to manufacturing for corrective action.
• Performs capping and visual inspection of product.
• Receives product and performs receiving inspection of components using tools including calipers, microscopes, micrometers, etc. to ensure compliance with drawings and customer specifications.
• Pulls work orders for manufacturing team and updates ERP for product pulled.
• Helps with ad hoc QA projects including yield reports for shipments.
• Updates and creates documentation including product test processes and work instructions.

• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of QA/ QC experience required.
• Competence with measuring tools is essential. Includes calipers, pin gage, micrometers, microscope, etc.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination, dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints required.
• Computer skills (MS Office Suite, Navision, etc.) and data entry experience required. D365 experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle sensitive parts is necessary.
• A positive attitude and good rapport with coworkers is essential.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in the business language (English).
