The Transformative Ideas program is at the heart of Duke's mission to cultivate thoughtful dialogue and meaningful learning experiences. In this role, you'll take the lead on high-impact initiatives that span academic instruction, event coordination, and program development.

What You'll Do:



  • Lead logistics and speaker recruitment for two major Provost-sponsored colloquia (Fall 2026 & Spring 2027) as part of Duke's Initiative on Free Inquiry, Pluralism, and Belonging.
  • Facilitate small group discussions in undergraduate courses such as The Good Life and the new Spring course on pluralism and belonging.
  • Design and direct a new summer seminar for underprivileged high school students, launching in 2025-26, in collaboration with Trinity's Dean of Humanities and Foundation Relations.
  • Coordinate and support program events, including Welcome Dinners, dorm talks, student reading groups, and the TI LLC House Course.


What You'll Bring:



  • A bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in academic program administration, instruction, or counseling - or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, instructional, and program management skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, evaluate program performance, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools like MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Qualtrics, Outlook, and Box.
  • Flexibility to support evening and weekend events as needed.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position of USD $48,960.00 to USD $77,928.00. Final offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education/training, key skills, internal equity, and market conditions. Your total compensation goes beyond your paycheck.
