Job Description:

Adolfson and Peterson Construction is currently hiring for a Virtual Construction Engineer. This role will provide assistance to the project team by preparing models, coordinating models, and conducting Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) coordination meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Participate in the preparation and coordination of VDC models for all construction projects.
    • Request and obtain models from design team at milestone dates.
    • Help organize and prepare models for use in quantity takeoffs by the preconstruction team.
    • Help coordinate federated building models consisting of design team models, subcontractor component models, and in-house generated component models.
    • Facilitate regular Building Information Modeling (BIM) meetings for above-ceiling coordination and any other model-based coordination required. Ensure minutes of all meetings are generated and distributed in a timely manner.
    • Effectively communicate VDC activities and schedule to the project team, including the VDC Manager, Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project/Field engineer.
    • Help prepare any coordination drawings needed to facilitate project completion.
    • Assist in the collection and preparation of project-required as-built/record models and/or CAD files.
  • Assist in the process of procuring future projects while continually building client loyalty.
    • Assist the marketing department in preparing presentations and proposals.
    • Provide aid in generating site logistics models, animations, and simulations, in conjunction with the project team, as needed for inclusion in RFPs and interviews.
    • Interact and create positive communications with clients, other professional organizations, and staff throughout the organization.
    • Develop a network of architects, consultants, and potential clients.
    • Develop supplemental field documents for superintendents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • History of experience and proven results including:
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field and successful completion of a construction industry internship or one year of related construction experience. Experience in the areas of design, estimating, and/or field supervision preferred.
    • Ability to read and comprehend building plans and specifications.
    • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, Autodesk Building Suite (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD), Trimble Sketchup, and Bluebeam.
    • Exposure to model building codes and sustainability a plus.
  • Ability to travel and work at various job sites.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Developed skills (written, oral, graphic, and listening) to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful and lasting relationships.

Estimated Pay:

$70,000.00 - $105,000.00
