The Strategic Launch Leader will be responsible for leading and optimizing the development and execution of commercial processes in alignment with leadership. This role will focus on ensuring the seamless transition of strategic initiatives from planning through implementation, supporting both internal and external projects to achieve high-quality commercial outcomes. The Strategic Launch Leader will develop, implement, and maintain policies, workflows, and escalation protocols to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement of all commercial activities.

By collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging data-driven insights, this role will drive the effective execution of Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, targeting favorable outcomes related to financial performance, operational excellence, and customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and results-driven professional with strong leadership and collaboration skills, capable of navigating a complex, highly matrixed environment

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Initiative Execution Excellence

  • Lead the execution of high-impact strategic initiatives, including product launches, operational improvements, and new market entry strategies, ensuring alignment with GTM objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and the product owner during end-stage development and pre-launch phases to define launch objectives and timeline. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track launch success.
  • Develop strategies and tactics and allocate resources to ensure that all necessary collateral, tools, and capabilities are developed and finalized prior to launch to facilitate seamless project handoff and alignment with initiative objectives.
  • Act as the lead communicator for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective information exchange, alignment on launch objectives, and pre-launch readiness.

Commercial Process Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized commercial processes, workflows, and escalation protocols to drive consistent and high-quality execution of initiatives.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts to enhance sales effectiveness, streamline workflows, and drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Support the planning and management of business pilots, proof of concepts, and other growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between commercial operations and other departments to ensure alignment and the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure Sales has the right tools, technology, and strategies to support business growth and customer needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on assigned business units, providing guidance and education to internal teams regarding nuances and key priorities.
  • May serve on cross-functional projects to represent the business unit and ensure alignment with broader organizational goals.

Industry Trends and Adaptation

  • Proactively monitor industry trends, including regulatory, technological, and competitive developments, and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation.
  • Evaluate potential tools and technologies to support continuous improvement and scalability of commercial operations.

Customer and Business Development Support

  • Participate in and support external business development and customer-facing initiatives as needed.
  • Partner with customer development teams to ensure the seamless integration of new products, services, or initiatives into the commercial strategy.

Performance Metrics and Reporting

  • Leverage reporting tools to track and evaluate the success of strategic initiatives according to defined key performance indicators (KPI) to ensure alignment with organizational goals, guide data-driven decision-making and inform future strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights on performance metrics, customer behavior, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Requires training and experience in fields such as business administration, sales, or marketing, generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in sales, marketing, or related roles in Animal Health with experience in product launches or managing cross-functional initiatives preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage medium to large-scale change and improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce strongly preferred.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a complex, highly matrixed environment.

  • Knowledge of end-to-end commercial processes, including internal and customer priorities and critical success factors.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across functions.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
