KPMG is currently seeking an Internal Audit and Controls Intern to join our Audit and Assurance team
Responsibilities:
  • Engage in a variety of assignments focused on process and risk and controls, including risk assessments; internal audit strategy and execution; internal control assessment, design and testing; and audit committee reporting to support business objectives
  • Assist in the planning and execution of projects related to risk, control and internal audit, leveraging automation tools
  • Conduct internal control testing and analyze results to determine the efficacy of business process and controls
  • Participate actively in internal audit engagements, performing analytical reviews of key client processes to improve control mechanisms and enhance business processes
  • Contribute to the preparation and analysis of findings and reports, ensuring clear and concise communication with clients and team members

Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent program from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong technical aptitude and critical thinking skills, with knowledge of data analysis techniques, including Generative AI applications; ability to navigate MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Audit and Assurance professionals are expected to work in-person at a KPMG office or client site on an average of three days per week; some client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay (varies by office)

California Salary Range: $86000 - $94000
