Who we are and what we do: The Department of Finance and Administration is currently seeking an experienced and driven IT Manager to manage a full range of IT Services specializing in a group of modules within and related to the following applications: PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) solutions and SmartSimple. The successful candidate will have a background in supporting PeopleSoft projects and an understanding of the SmartSimple application. This manager role will help to guide teams responsible for automating business processes and implementing new functionality within applications in support of our business partners. This IT manager is a working manager and able to perform related work as required. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with implementing strategic changes related to staffing and job responsibilities in support of the assigned applications and modules.
- Manage and support the full lifecycle of PeopleSoft/Smart Simple projects, from planning and requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and support.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building consensus and ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide support for maintenance, upgrade, and optimization of applications to ensure they meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Mentor and develop employees to ensure adequate coverage is maintained, cross-training for projects/ modules is in place and encourage process improvement in all areas.
- Maintain a respectful, positive, and productive work environment, monitoring team performance, resolving conflicts and helping to make optimal staff assignments.
- Ensure team adheres to best practices and research current industry trends/ advancements in technology.
- Assesses workload of employees, identifying potential leaders and strengths for special projects, stretch assignments and promotional opportunities. Help conduct interviews and fill vacancies with the most qualified candidates.
- Engages with subordinates during daily activities to identify motivational factors relevant to productivity to enhance commitment and performance. Models effective performance to encourage success in others and enhance trust.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with vendors, partners, stakeholders, management and team members.
- Escalate challenges, performance issues, report progress and celebrate successes with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team as needed, assisting with troubleshooting, problem resolution and the completion of task to meet project deadlines.
- Establish and maintain effective collaboration with Executive IT Director, IT Directors and Domain Leadership at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Additional graduate coursework or experience in information technology on a year for year basis may substitute for required degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience in PeopleSoft, SmartSimple and/or project implementations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role is required.
The ideal candidate would have the following in addition to the minimum qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM, HCM, ELM or Smart Simple applications, including functional and technical aspects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent professional and technical writing/ documentation/ problem solving skills required.
- Advanced skills in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
- Expertise in creating use cases, process flow diagrams, and requirements traceability matrices.
- Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate meetings with stakeholders in an organized and professional manner.
- Experience with technical tools and technologies such as Integration Broker, Application Designer, PeopleCode, and SQL.
- Experience with motivating teams, resolving conflicts, making decisions, building consensus, and setting priorities.
- Familiarity with IT governance, best practices, risk management, and compliance principles, including tracking of legislative and policy changes.
- PeopleSoft certifications or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
