*Description*
Our client is looking for 2 travel technicians to grow their team. This role will work on new store buildouts, upgrades, franchise conversions, and more. It is a 75%+ travel position that may be out of town at least 3 weeks of the month, typically Monday-Friday (travel days Monday and Friday, work Tuesday-Thursday). The geographic zone is the whole country depending on where help is needed. For locations within driving distance, techs will use either a company vehicle or their own (and be reimbursed for mileage). For locations farther away, flights will be booked by our client. Hotel (Holiday Inn Express or Hilton) and meal allowance are provided as well. Our client currently has over 300 truck stops and plans on adding at least 35 more in the next 12 months, mostly on the west coast/California. The day-to-day will include a mix of pulling/terminating cable, drop downs, installing/connecting IT hardware, and drilling through walls or getting up in the ceiling. Candidates must have previous experience in an install technician type role, preferably travel. While travel will be usually planned well in advance, there may be times where techs get less than one week notice if something happens at a site and needs support. Techs must be available and ready to go, within reason. Extensive IT experience isn't required, but a basic knowledge of how to troubleshoot switches/routers or how to communicate with systems/networks teams in the home office by plugging in to allow the team to remote troubleshoot would be needed. Workdays will often be 8-10+ hours and the work must be done while on the visit, if extra resources are needed or the tech isn't familiar with a certain problem they have to be able to figure out how to resolve the issue. *Top Skills - Must Haves* Cabling, cat5, cat6, drop downs, termination, windows 10,printers, peripherals, troubleshooting, routers, switches, hardware, software *Top Skills' Details* 1) Low voltage cabling - able to read blueprints, pull and terminate cable, ethernet, data, phone line, drop downs. 2) Basic IT skills, eg hooking up routers/switches, troubleshooting printers/peripherals, connecting desktops and POS machines, working with admin teams to remote in to devices for configuration or troubleshooting 3) Handyman skills, eg experience with power tools, working on ladders, climbing through ceilings 4) Must be available for travel on short notice if needed and comfortable with being away from home Monday-Friday, and old enough to rent a rental car. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* General handyman skills are required since techs may be faced with having to drill through sheetrock, concrete, etc to run cable, install/mount TV's or monitors, and more. Candidates must be able to work independently. Our client typically sends out a team of 2-3 for each project but that may not always be an option. *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
