Position Summary:
The
BioDynamics Lab is seeking a part-time Senior Project Engineer to work on
projects in human musculoskeletal modeling and wearable robotic systems.

Essential Functions:
-Focus: Human musculoskeletal modeling, Wearable robotics,
Rehab technologies
-Build subject-specific musculoskeletal models for motion analysis and
simulation.
-Process and analyze motion-capture datasets (kinematics/kinetics) to
extract biomechanical insights.
-Contribute to wearable exoskeleton development, from prototyping to
benchtop/bench-to-human testing support.
-Develop rehabilitation games/tools that interface with sensors and
devices.
-Contribute to publications and proposal development.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Strong foundation in mathematics and digital human modeling (e.g.,
biomechanics, motion analysis).
-Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and/or C++; solid code organization and
documentation practices.
-Knowledge of wearable robots and human factors/ergonomics.
-Clear communicator; collaborative, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with mocap pipelines, signal processing, and model calibration.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $40.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
