As part of this mission, we seek a Technical Milling Intern who will gain hands-on experience in grain milling operations while supporting continuous improvement, product quality, and operational efficiency. This role is designed to provide exposure to the technical aspects of milling, safety, and production practices in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Who You'll Be Working With

You will work closely with our milling team, production supervisors, and quality assurance specialists to learn the fundamentals of grain milling and contribute to ongoing projects. Under the guidance of experienced plant staff and engineering leaders, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in equipment operations, process troubleshooting, and efficiency improvements. Collaboration with both operations and technical staff will provide a well-rounded internship experience.

Who You Are

You are a motivated and detail-oriented student with an interest in food manufacturing, grain processing, or agricultural engineering. You enjoy learning through hands-on experience, observing processes, and asking thoughtful questions to understand both the "how" and the "why." You bring strong communication skills, curiosity, and a willingness to work in a team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assist in daily milling operations, including monitoring equipment and processes.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to mill performance.
  • Participate in projects focused on process improvement, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Collect and analyze data to support operational decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Gain exposure to safety standards, quality assurance practices, and production reporting.
  • Document findings and contribute to technical reports or project summaries.
  • Shadow experienced operators and supervisors to learn best practices in milling operations.


Qualifications



  • Current student pursuing a degree in Milling Science, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, agriculture, or food processing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a production plant environment with adherence to safety standards.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
