Kitchen Supervisor

OVERVIEW:

The kitchen supervisor is responsible for the overall operation and management of the Silicon Valley Campus kitchen. The kitchen supervisor provides meals for multiple campus programs, events, meetings, and disaster services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and coordinate meals for campus programs, events, meetings, and disaster services
• Order food and manage weekly inventory
• Ensure food donations and storage comply with safety standards
• Maintain record of food donations and meal statistics
• Schedule kitchen operations for efficient meal services
• Supervise and train kitchen staff and volunteers on food safety and handling
• Ensure compliance with personnel policies
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
• Ensure kitchen meets County regulations and inspections for Senior Nutrition Meals
• Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance
• Complete required reports
• Manage kitchen budget and maintain vendor relationships
• Work closely with the Senior Nutrition Manager and Director of Housing Programs to meet meal needs
• Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Experience cooking at a professional level (3 years required)
• Food Protection Manager Certification (required)
• CA Driver's License (required)
• Kitchen management experience (3 years preferred)
• Experience supervising and scheduling staff
• Experience planning menus and preparing meals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
