Location: Mapleton, IL 61547

Pay Rate: $20.00-23.50/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Duration: 1 year (potential extension)

Summary

This position supports the maintenance department and storeroom operations by issuing purchase requisitions and orders, tracking contractor labor hours, managing inventory transactions, and ensuring accurate documentation. The role requires SAP proficiency and close coordination with vendors, procurement, and accounts payable to maintain site operations and compliance.

Responsibilities



  • Issue purchase requisitions and orders for maintenance labor, materials, production goods (non-raw materials), and ESH supplies.
  • Enter labor hours into SAP for Evonik employees and contractors.
  • Confirm contractor hours against work orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Track and follow up on PRs and POs with vendors, procurement, and stakeholders.
  • Review and manage invoices; resolve billing issues with vendors and accounts payable.
  • Maintain and update maintenance KPIs.
  • Receive, label, and process stock items and project materials in SAP.
  • Issue goods to work orders and adjust inventory using sign-off sheets.
  • Perform inventory audits and reconcile stock discrepancies.
  • Support vendor-managed inventory (VMI) activities.
  • Scan and organize timesheets, reports, and engineering documents.
  • Migrate engineering files to SiteDoc and SharePoint.
  • Follow ISO procedures and ensure safety compliance at all times.
  • Support compliance with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR).
  • Participate in site safety initiatives and serve as a forklift trainer (no forklift operation required).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements



  • Experience with SAP, especially WM module functions.
  • Understanding of procurement and vendor communication processes.
  • Ability to read and verify invoices, POs, and inventory records.
  • Familiarity with ISO procedures and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR).
  • Basic computer skills for scanning and document management.
  • Physical ability to stoop, stretch, bend, and work indoors/outdoors.
  • Tolerance for extreme temperatures (below 32F and above 100F).
  • Ability to wear PPE (safety shoes, eye/hand/head/hearing protection).
