What You'll Do:

  • Work in a team setting to maintain facilities and grounds to support a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff (i.e., snow removal, lawncare, etc.).
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure systems run safely and efficiently.
  • Perform and support a wide variety of repairs and general maintenance on building systems, equipment and facilities across the organization.
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager to price and source needed parts and supplies for building and maintenance projects.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with department managers and staff to ensure smooth daily operations-troubleshooting and responding to maintenance requests quickly and effectively.
  • Participate in the department's on-call rotation (must remain within one hour of the facility during this time). Respond as needed to emergency maintenance calls after normal business hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Timely response to fire alarms and the execution of department actions to protect building occupants and property.
  • Perform or assist with major and minor repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Advise management of general condition of facilities and equipment and any unusual problems or concerns that may arise; make recommendations for facilities improvements or upgrades.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of maintenance and repair records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes to ensure the organization is survey ready.
  • Adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalency + 3+ years of job related experience in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing.

DESIRED

Post-secondary education, vocational training or certification in a job related field (HVAC, electrical and/or plumbing).

Work Experience:
REQUIRED
Minimum 3+ years of building maintenance and repair experience.

DESIRED

  • 3-5 years in like work + 1 year facility maintenance experience within the healthcare setting.
  • Hands-on skills with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry experience.
  • A problem-solver who can adapt to different challenges throughout the day.
  • A reliable team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

License and Certifications:
REQUIRED
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License (DL)
