| Description The primary purpose of this position is sourcing and purchasing material, services, and supplies for Porter Corp. The position requires purchasing general MRO items, meeting cost reduction plans, and purchasing MRP generated, and manufacturing requested production items. Effective management of costs, inventory, and on-time delivery are key to ensuring overall service levels. Developing sourcing strategies and completing improvement projects are essential to this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  
 Quality, cost, delivery, service, and technologyIdentify potential suppliers and request quotes for new and existing products and servicesAnalyze market trends and recommend product substitutionsCreate and develop sourcing strategiesNegotiate competitive prices and favorable terms and conditionsCreate and manage purchase orders and review related invoicesComplete quarterly planning parameter reviewsCreate and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, bulk-buy programs, and stocking programsClosely manage and expedite incoming material to ensure on time delivery and outgoing movement of materials. Promote positive supply chain partnershipsWork cross functionally to learn and proactively identify solutionsComplete continuous improvement projects/initiativesMonitor and manage inventory levels and inventory dollars to ensure appropriate stock levelsManage material rework and material returns within supply basePerform other related duties as required

 Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, and PowerPointDemonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
