Job Description

We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of our machine shop. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment, while working closely with our Machine Maintenance Technician to ensure equipment and facility readiness. Responsibilities include general maintenance, painting, landscaping, machine cleaning, and scrap management.




Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Machine Cleaning & Support in tandem with Machine Maintenance Technician.

  • Clean and maintain CNC machines, mills, lathes, building surfaces, and other shop equipment.
  • Assist the Machine Maintenance Technician with scheduled maintenance tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Scrap Management
  • Assist in organizing, sorting, and disposing of metal and material scrap.
  • Monitor scrap bins and coordinate timely removal or recycling.
  • Maintain accurate records of scrap volumes and disposal schedules.
  • Painting & Surface Maintenance
  • Prep and paint walls, floors, machinery, and safety markings.
  • Maintain painted surfaces for a clean and professional appearance.
  • Perform touch-ups and repainting as needed.
  • Landscaping & Groundskeeping
  • Maintain outdoor areas including trimming, weeding, and seasonal cleanup (mowing optional).
  • Ensure walkways and entrances are safe and presentable.
  • Support snow removal and storm cleanup when required (sidewalk care).
  • General Facilities Maintenance
  • Conduct routine inspections of shop areas, restrooms, break rooms, and storage spaces.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Restock cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Machine Maintenance Technician to coordinate tasks and share updates.
  • Communicate effectively with shop personnel to support operational needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Support OSHA and environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.


Experience & Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance.


Required Skills

Familiarity with machine shop environments and basic mechanical systems.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness.
  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work from heights.
