Coding Compliance Educator
Location - Remote, anywhere in the US Duration - Full-Time position Job Summary The Coding Compliance Educator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of education and training programs for LexiCode's medical coders and consultants. This role ensures coding accuracy, compliance with regulatory requirements, and promotes continuous learning within LexiCode. The educator serves as a subject matter expert in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and official coding guidelines. Inpatient and Outpatient coding skills preferred. Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing coding staff.
- Research, comprehend, and produce coding training, including coding rules and guideline changes.
- Create and produce recorded instruction material and presentations; Ongoing curriculum and materials assessment and development
- Leading the ongoing strategic development of company education needs
- Manages the LexiCode Coder Development Program (CDP). This includes, but is not limited to:
- Leading the ongoing strategic development of the program
- Planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations
- Ongoing curriculum and materials assessment and development
- Classroom and online instruction
- Coordination and education of guest and offshore trainers
- Work with the Compliance team to identify employee knowledge gaps and provide targeted education to address deficiencies.
- Stay current on changes in coding guidelines, payer policies, CMS regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaboration with management team on continuing education planning.
- Complies with confidentiality standards, including HIPAA privacy regulations, found in the Employee Handbook.
Key Skills:
- Ability to translate complex coding rules and guidelines into understandable training.
- Excellent presentation, teaching, and communication skills in a remote work environment.
- Proficient in coding software, EHR systems, presentation tools, and Microsoft Office or Google tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications Required:
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential from AHIMA
- 5 or more years of acute care coding experience
- Demonstrated proficiency coding Inpatient records Top coding skills in specialty area. Coding test will be administered to demonstrate proficiency.
- Ability to work from home using high-speed wired Cable, DSL, or Satellite internet
Preferred:
- Experience with EMR, multiple encoders and abstracting systems
- Demonstrated proficiency coding Outpatient record types
- Education or teaching experience
- AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer designation
