What You Will Do:

  • Sets up and operates CNC lathes to perform threading operations on experimental, individual or quantity parts or rods.

  • Selects mounts and aligns various machine attachments, standard or improvised tooling.

  • Sets and adjusts speeds, feeds and depths of cuts where applicable.

  • May be required to edit programs.

  • May be required to operate partner's machine and own machine at the same time during breaks and lunches.

  • Conducts inspection to ascertain threaded rods meet Norris and/or API specifications using various precision and non-precision instruments, templates and go/no-go gauges.

  • Records inspection data for purposes of maintaining statistical information.

  • May be required to attach protector in coupling and/or attach coupling on rod end to proper tightness.

  • Monitors feed table and straighten improperly placed rod.

  • Performs routine maintenance on the equipment including cleaning, adjusting and maintaining proper fluid levels and filters.

  • Maintains work area clean and in an orderly condition.

  • May be assigned other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent education and/or experience. Valid driver's license in state of residence required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.
