Role Description & Responsibilities

Our Dassault Systemes Simulia R&D Quality Engineering Test Automation team is excited to announce we're looking for an AI Chatbot Development intern to join our team and help us define and develop innovative solutions that enhance daily operations for our SIMULIA R&D group.

In this role, you'll be responsible for developing a Mistral LLM-based chatbot that consolidates critical data from various information sources to help teams make meaningful, data-driven conclusions. This is a chance to work on projects that will significantly improve efficiency, allowing our R&D teams to focus on strategic priorities.

You will report directly to the SIMULIA Software Quality Engineering Director and work closely and under close mentoring with the Test Automation team.

  • You will help drive the collection of necessary information needed to define requirements from key stakeholders

  • You will assist in defining and implementing the architecture to allow the chatbot to:

  • Collect and connect both structured and unstructured information from various internal R&D data sources

  • Including R&D schedules and plans, status of our cloud test environments and services, new functionality under development, regression test planned, test results, software defects, and unstructured conversations stored in our internal social collaboration apps.

  • Provide clear, concise and precise output to gain new insights to help assess issues and downstream impacts on quality and readiness for a software release.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI or Data Science. We are seeking a positive and ambitious team-oriented person with the following:
  • Pro-active communicator with very strong verbal and written English language skills
  • Strong attention to details, self-starter with strong follow-up skills
  • Enjoy problem solving with strong critical thinking skills and passion to learn
  • Strong working knowledge of Python (required): You must be proficient in Python, as it will be the primary language for development.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP): Familiarity with NLP concepts is essential for building effective conversational AI.
  • Familiarity with LangChain and LangGraph: You should be comfortable using these libraries to build complex LLM applications and integrate them with different data sources.
  • Coursework/experience with large datasets: Demonstrated coursework and/or experience handling, scraping, and parsing large datasets to extract the information needed for the chatbot's functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ML concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning and algorithms that provide predictive insights.
Familiarity of the following is a plus:
  • SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling tools
  • Cloud Computing & HPC technologies and environments
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Understanding of software testing concepts

    We are looking for a Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or Data Science intern to join our R&D Quality Engineering Test Automation team. The SIMULIA Quality Engineering team consists of a dynamic cohort of software testing specialists with a diversity of skills and backgrounds. Each member on the team brings his/her expertise and unique perspective to testing our Simulation products and technologies.

In addition to working with your direct team, as a member of Dassault Systemes NAM Intern Program you will be invited to our Speaker Series, Lunch and Learns, Networking Events and employee functions. This is a paid 40 hours per week position and is fully onsite at our Johnston, RI office. Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $32 - $40 per hour.
