Overview

The Coborn's Accounting Team is looking for an Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead to help bring our AP team to the next level! As the AP Team Lead you will provide leadership and direction to the Accounts Payable team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of Accounts Payable operational processes. and ensure that all procedures and standards are met, oversee workloads, assign balanced distribution of work on the team, and lead the monthly Accounts Payable close processes.

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Oversee daily AP processing, including invoice entry, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Oversee and manage daily automated clearing house (ACH) payments, check payment runs, rent payments and positive pay administration. Ensure all vendor payments are processed with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and internal controls. Take ownership of validating payment files, coordinating approvals, and monitoring cash flow impacts.
  • Review and approve AP transactions as needed to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Resolve escalated vendor inquiries and payment issues with professionalism and timeliness.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, approval workflows, and internal controls.

Month End Close & Reporting

  • Lead the AP month-end close process, ensuring cutoffs and deadlines are met and the monthly results are accurate.
  • Ensure accurate posting of expenses and timely preparation of pre close reports and journal entries.
  • Collaborate with Accounting teams to support close deadlines and audit requirements.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Create and maintain department standard operating procedures and training guides; manage the onboarding and training process for new staff to support their effectiveness and long-term success.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and automation in AP workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with external auditors by preparing and providing AP documentation as needed.

Team Leadership

  • Provide direct supervision to the Accounts Payable Processor team.
  • Build a high-performing, engaged team by mentoring, training, and recognizing team contributions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to streamline processes and resolve accounting-related issues.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Requires an Associate's degree in Accounting and at least two years of relevant experience or training.

Pay Range

USD $63,000.00 - USD $99,000.00 /Yr.
