Description

Duties of the Position:

The Airframe and Powerplant Inspector is responsible for performing routine inspections on airframe and powerplant repairs.



  • Mechanical inspection of parts including first article, in-process, and final.
  • Verification of materials and processes and verification of certifications from sub-tier vendors.
  • Performance of various other quality tasks as required to ensure the timely delivery of precision machined parts to the customer.
  • Perform routine inspections on airframes and powerplants
  • Ensure all repairs or modifications meet airworthiness standards as per airframe and powerplant license requirements.
  • Perform inspections on weapons control systems, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers, and related aircraft systems.
  • Completion of all applicable paperwork (working to AS9100 standards).
  • Document all technical aspects of aircraft and engine maintenance as required by company and FAA standards using technical manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Complete and document inspection results in forms, logs, and electronic systems
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
  • Comply with safety and quality procedures relevant to the work area, including EHSS, ESD and FOD requirements.
  • Train and mentor other inspectors and perform related duties as necessary to comply with ISO AS9100, military, and customer specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience with aircraft structures and/or powerplant repairs and inspections.
  • Proficiency in reading and using technical documents to meet FAA airworthiness standards.
  • Excellent time-management, organization, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with AS9100 quality management system.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.


Required Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
