JOB SUMMARY: MCSG is seeking a USSF Exercise Planner to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron's (392 CTS) United States Space Force (USSF) Exercise Team at Schriever SFB, CO. This team supports the 392 CTS-led USSF exercises (e.g., SPACE FLAG (SF), POLARIS HAMMER, Flashpoint, and SKIES series). These exercises are designed to prepare Guardians to execute operations in a realistic contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment against a thinking and determined adversary. The USSF Exercise Planner works with the internal USSF Exercise Team members and external stakeholders to design, develop, plan, and execute assigned USSF Exercises. Location:This position is on Schriever SFB, CO and requires on-site support.

PRIMARY DUTIES:



  • Leads a team of exercise planners, subject matter experts, and support staff responsible for designing, planning, preparing, executing, and evaluating assigned 392 CTS-led USSF exercises.
  • Leads planning conferences and working groups with applicable stakeholders to develop and provide realistic, comprehensive, mission-related exercise environments based on current and near-future (i.e., 12-18 months into the future) Red/Blue/Grey force threats and capabilities.
  • Integrates multiple internal and external stakeholder inputs (e.g., Delta, Service, and/or Joint organizations) into USSF exercises.
  • Assists STARCOM in identifying and coordinating resource requirements for individual exercises.
  • Coordinates manning support with units and applicable Field Commands for each USSF exercise.
  • Coordinates M&S support activities to de-conflict resources.
  • Leads the USSF exercise White Cell and Exercise Control Group.
  • Manages the timing, tempo, and execution of USSF exercises.
  • Leads hot wash debriefs and after-action report development after each USSF exercise.
  • Identifies gaps and shortfalls in M&S tools needed to provide realistic exercise environments.
  • Captures, analyzes, and reports observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of USSF exercises.
  • Participates in STARCOM's annual and quarterly ECT meetings.
  • Attends USSF exercise-related meetings as requested by the Government.
  • Prepares event-related documents (i.e., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, lessons learned, meeting minutes) within established time frames.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.



REQUIREMENTS:



  • 10years of space experience
  • Experience within the DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) applying project management processes to create and manage project plans, resulting in timely delivery of project milestones across interrelated efforts.
  • Experience using risk management concepts and strategies to ensure project success.
  • This position requires limited travel (less than 4-5 weeks/year).



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Previous SPACE FLAG experience.
  • Experience designing, planning, preparing, executing, and/or evaluating space capabilities in Service, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) or Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises
  • Experience managing DoD or IC projects from initial design to completion.
  • USAF Weapons School graduate
  • PMP certification or a Certificate of Project Management from an accredited institution.



RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:10 years of space experience. 5-7 years of experience planning large-scale DoD exercise events.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION (PREFERRED): Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
