Programming and support of AOIs (Automated Optical Inspection) and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machine), RCCAs investigations, measuring suspect material, performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies.

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Metrology Technician to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The key responsibilities of this Metrology Technician include, but are not limited to:



  • Program and support AOI and CMM platforms specific to measurements needed for product acceptance
  • Document and maintain measurement work instructions for operators using this equipment
  • Obtain regular professional training relative to programming packages for current software packages
  • Conduct Gage Analysis and Machine acceptance on a standard basis
  • Validate process improvements as required by Engineering and Process


The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Metrology Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • AS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • (3) years manufacturing experience or work in metrology environment preferred
  • Experience with: MicroVu Inspec Software, Keyence IM Series, Zeiss Calypso and/or Cognex In-Sight preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable with GD&T / Blueprint interpretation
  • 3D modeling software experience: Creo/Pro-E preferred
  • Minitab, Microsoft Office, 5S, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Typical functions require maintaining a physical condition necessary for walking, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
