The Lab Technician II will be responsible for: (1) ensuring lab samples are tested and reported in a timely manner, (2) work safely in a cGMP and Food Safety environment, (3) adhering to cGMP and Food Safety requirements. This position is located in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Compensation: The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $38.94-51.44. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location. What You'll Do:
- Following all procedures related to both lab and EH&S safety practice
- Adhering to current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) and Food Safety requirements
- Adhering to good lab practice (GLP)
- Adhering to good documentation practice (GDP)
- Adhere to HACCP Food safety requirements
- Adhere to all Roquette Plaquemine food safety policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Follow all site policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Reporting to work in a punctual manner and acting professional in a work environment
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Maintain and assist with instrument calibration
- Assist with weekly and quarterly lab calibration
- Coordinate and communicate with instrument manufacturers to ship instrument for PM and Calibrations
- Maintain inventory of spare parts for instruments, chemicals, standards, and solutions.
- Review, revise, and create lab SOPs and Policies.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for lab troubleshooting.
- Participating in audits as the SME
- Trained all new employees and maintain training records
- Maintaining reference standards program for the lab
- Maintain accurate records of all test results and report them in a timely manner in alignment with the quality system.
- Ensure documentation and records are maintained according to plant procedures and the quality system
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Assist in maintaining at a high level all laboratory and process development safety equipment and cleanliness/housekeeping standards
- Report and take necessary action to resolve unsafe conditions immediately
What You'll Need: Education:
- A.S./B.S. in Chemistry, Biology or a related field is preferred
Experience:
- 2-5 years' experience quality testing using analytical equipment is preferred.
- Must have basic computer and computer applications experience.
- 2-5 years of cGMP, ISO9001:2015, or Food Safety
- 1 year of SAP experience
- 1 year of LIMS (Lab Management Information System)
Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable)
- This position is not a management position.
Work Environment
- This role spends approximately 80% of the time in a lab environment and 20% of the time in an administrative environment.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; work in hot, cold and loud environments. Employee must be able to wear a respirator.(manufacturing only)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position which comprises of a 12-hour rotating shift.
Business Travel:
- Travel may be required when working on projects at other manufacturing plants.
- 100% of projects take place in Plaquemine, LA.
