Job Description |
IMPACT Leadership & Educational Center - 2140 Moxie Lane Winterville, NC 28590 - is currently seeking a Federal Work Study Student to serve as a Programs Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support
- Assist the lead teacher in carrying out STEM learning experiences and other leadership programs.
- Help prepare, set-up, and clean-up instructional materials, supplies, and resources for program activities.
- Support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
Student Supervision and Safety
- Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment at all times.
- Use positive strategies that promote student engagement and learning.
Communication and Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with lead teachers, program coordinators, and other staff members.
- Communicate effectively with students using age-appropriate language and positive reinforcement
- Report concerns or incidents to appropriate supervisors promptly

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) |
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
- Previous experience working with children in educational, recreational, or childcare settings preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with various groups of children
- Must pass background check and meet all state/local requirements for working with minors
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around classroom spaces for extended periods
- Capability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds
- Ability to participate in recreational activities with students
- Visual and auditory acuity to supervise children effectively
