Work Zone Traffic Technician

STV currently has an opening in our Charlotte, NC offices for a Work Zone Traffic Control Technician for our Transportation division.

This role also offers the opportunity to function as a resource in support of our other offices and have a direct impact on the improvement of infrastructure nationally. You have the chance for upward mobility while building your own team, working on Design/Build and Design/Build/Build projects of all sizes and complexities. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who desires to work in a team-environment, displays confidence, and possesses a solid understanding of traffic management principles.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop traffic control plans for various work zones

  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications

  • Conduct site evaluations and assessments

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic control issues

  • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) development and review (Design work zone traffic control)

  • Prepare and participate in presentations to the project team

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

  • Familiarity with traffic control design and regulations

Skills & Abilities:

  • Background in Work Zone Traffic Control

  • The ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments

  • MicroStation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Associate's degree in civil engineering technology

  • 2-6 years' relevant experience

  • Previous experience in traffic control design and project management
