Convergint is looking for a full-time, results-driven, and forward-thinking Purchasing Lead to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and communicating activities of the Purchasing and Logistics groups with the Operations and Service departments for CTCs in the Midwest. Adheres to the ethical standards of purchasing. Provides work direction and training to Purchasing Agents. Maintains strong partnerships with all Colleagues, Customers and Vendors, meeting operation product needs on a timely basis and evaluate and recommend new products to enhance standards and increase profitability. As a Purchasing Lead, you will be part of a dynamic team that will enable you to grow as Convergint grows.

  • Implement systems related to the flow of purchases from needs analysis to invoice payment.
  • Ensure utilization of available inventory items or surplus material by Purchasing Agents.
  • Continued development of Inventory Management software and related systems.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate costs with vendors that meet margin goals.
  • Ensures priority order requests are completed by Purchasing Agents.
  • Manage vendors to ensure price competitiveness, inventory levels, quality, on time delivery and key performance indicators are met.
  • Identify and work to qualify new vendors.
  • Interface with all departments and resolves problems and issues, as necessary.
  • Establish rapport with Colleagues, Customers and Vendors.
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Communicate professionally, persuasively, and personably with Vendors and Clients via phone and email.
  • Perform product research when necessary.
  • Supervise Purchasing Agents and assists in order entry as needed.
  • Provide continuous training and support to Purchasing Agents.
  • Reconcile and process purchasing and receiving documents for payment approval to A/P.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required.

Requirements:

Education: Highschool/GED or equivalent experience



  • College degree preferred


Minimum Experience: 3 years purchasing experience



  • Familiarity with Security, Fire and/or Banking fields
  • Construction Experience
