Daikin Applied is seeking a Product Manager-Equipment Controls. This position will be responsible for creating and managing the equipment control strategy. This includes planning, organizing, and managing an equipment controls portfolio and product life cycle from concept through end of life. Primary objective is to provide a controls solution that meets the requirements for each HVAC equipment product. What you will do:

  • Drive the controls strategy for the equipment business unit.

  • Develop and recommend newcontrol product concepts.

  • Provide requirements to the product development team and external suppliers to clearly define high-level functionality, timelines, and cost expectations.

  • Coordinate activities with other departments, such as engineering, manufacturing, and technical literature, to ensure synergies of objectives and successful product launches.

  • Perform role as "Product Owner", including participation in team meetings, establishing priorities, and approving controls related development activities.

  • Recommend modifications of existing products to leverage new features and cost reduction opportunities.

  • Maintain contacts with key internal customers to ensure coordination between product development efforts and control implementation strategies.

  • Maintain contact with key external customers via customer/site visits and VOC initiatives to ensure alignment between customer expectations and unit control implementation.

  • Develop methods for field testing programs (alpha/beta sites) to determine control performance and user acceptance.

  • Support the Technical Response Center and Quality Assurance for controls related issues as required.

  • Define and maintain unit controller and related accessory portfolios.

  • Develop and recommend marketing objectives, including performance goals, feature content, and "user experience" strategies.

  • Analyze market trends and potential and identify market opportunities.

  • Direct market development supporting the "One Daikin" corporate initiatives.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (Technical, Engineering or Scientific) Mechanical Engineering Preferred

  • 5 years related experience

  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC or Industrial Controls experience (strongly preferred)

  • Experience Managing : Programable Logic Controllers (PLC) (strongly preferred)

  • Experience Industrial Automation (strongly preferred)

  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from$90,000k -$148,800K. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
