Are you organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in medical billing or insurance claims?
A well-established medical billing company in Shreveport, LA is looking for a Medical Billing Follow-Up Clerk to join their growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for tracking outstanding claims, resolving payment issues, and supporting the overall billing process to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance providers. Pay: Starting at $16.00/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)

Responsibilities:



  • Follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied insurance claims via phone, email, or insurance portals
  • Research and resolve claim issues by communicating with insurance providers and documenting actions taken
  • Assist with claim corrections, resubmissions, and appeals as necessary to secure timely payments
  • Track trends in denials or delayed payments and escalate issues to the billing team or management
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all follow-up activities and communications
  • Collaborate with billing and administrative staff to ensure efficient claims processing
  • Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks in a fast-paced work environment



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); education in healthcare or business is a plus
  • Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or insurance follow-up is strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Comfortable using billing systems and insurance web portals
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
