Position Summary
The Configuration Management Specialist will provide technical and administrative support to the NIWC Pacific METOC In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) program, ensuring disciplined configuration control and lifecycle management of complex systems supporting Navy meteorology and oceanography capabilities. This role is responsible for maintaining configuration baselines, managing change control processes, and ensuring data integrity across hardware, software, and documentation baselines in accordance with DoD and NIWC PAC standards. The specialist will interface with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to implement best practices in configuration management, contributing directly to mission readiness and system sustainment objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design and document configuration and data management processes
- Assist leadership in ensuring that configuration management processes are adhered to by the engineering teams.
- Establish configuration identification, functional, allocated, and product baselines
- Assists with configuration control, status accounting, and physical configuration audits
- Maintains configuration management procedures
- Reviews technical documentation
- Evaluates proposed product design changes to determine the impact on overall system
- Conducts formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle to ensure quality control
- Responds to data calls
- Develops, updates, and maintains program of record documentation
- Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) inputs to the Program Manager.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Required:
- Bachelors' Degree from an accredited university or in lieu of degree 4+ years of experience working in a Configuration Management role
- This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individuals must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for continued employment. U.S. Citizenship required

- Experience supporting and facilitating Configuration Control Boards
- Experience with reading, reviewing, and interpreting engineering and design drawings
