Temporary- Quality Technician (1st Shift)
The Quality Assurance Technician is an individual contributor responsible for supporting product and process quality during product launch, on-going manufacturing operations, and at supplier sites as required. Actively evaluates production activities directly at the shop floor by observing and sampling products, and by conducting audits and product and process inspections. Works directly with business unit leadership, manufacturing supervision and operators to ensure product conformance, apply basic problem solving and quality improvement tools, and improve processes to reduce loss and waste; continuously assures that procedures, processes, and products are in compliance with Plascore standards, customer requirements, ANSI, ISO9000 (including developing and revising documentation) and similar international standards; also responsible for document control and retention. Shift: Monday - Friday 6:30AM to 2:30PM THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION, NO GUARANTEE OF HIRE. Position to last from start till sometime in January of 2026. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Tester as required.
- When necessary, develop certifications of conformance for outbound shipments.
- Compare raw materials receipt paperwork against standards, such as Plascore Material Specifications, ASTM, etc.
- Perform quality assurance testing of production run samples and pre-production validation samples.
- Perform special testing for all Business Units as required, including aerospace qualification and first article testing.
- Perform training of new laboratory and inspection personnel and cross train as necessary; maintain records as required.
- Maintain and revise as necessary Quality Assurance testing documentation (QC Travelers, Inspection Sheets, Tracking Spreadsheets, etc.).
- Facilitate the timely completion of Quality Documents.
- Maintain and revise, as required, all test methods including those used for Instron mechanical testing.
- Maintain and file records and retain material per Retention Matrix. Ensure records are complete and accurate.
- As required, issue internal CAR based on observed trends, support Interim Action, Root Cause and Corrective Action, followed by Preventative action and implementation where applicable.
- Support customer service for customer complaints using CAR processes.
- Maintain quality and performance indicator reports including work order accuracy, scrap, nonconforming material and customer complaints as required
- Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery.
- Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods. Solicit product and process improvement ideas and report to supervision and management.
- Handle internal and external questions in a prompt professional manner.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times and continually improves 5S.
- Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance.
- Performs all reasonably related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- One to two years progressively more responsible experience
- Extensive technical or specialized knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired in the first two years of college, technical school, or business school
- ERP system experience: SAP preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
