POSITION SCOPE

We are currently seeking an energetic individual to work as an Apprentice Electrician in our expanding General Steel and Supply electrical department. The Apprentice Electrician will provide support and assistance to one or more skilled electricians.

The Apprentice Electrician will assist the electrician including site preparation and clearance and maintaining general site tidiness. The Apprentice Electrician will be performing tasks as directed by the Electrical Foreman to include assisting with installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, repair and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.

This is a safety sensitive position that consists of working with our 100,000 square foot Manufacturing facilities, with little to no travel or outdoor work.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Coordinate activities with other employees and departments
  • Maintain records and paperwork for jobs
  • Assist with checking accuracy and quality of all phases of fabrication and installation
  • Operate and maintain all shop equipment
  • Responsible for the electrical requirements in manufacturing new equipment, servicing customers' existing equipment in the field and electrical maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Responsible for performing work that is NEC, OSHA, and MSHA code compliant.
  • Perform physical labor tasks associated with the jobs, (pull and coil wire, heavy lifting, etc.)
  • Responsible to maintain knowledge of new and used electrical inventory and to recommend its use where applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work well independently as well as on teams
  • Ability and willingness to learn and advance in the electrical trade.
