Under moderate supervision, assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Use various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitor quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determine and corrects minor machine malfunctions. May train less experienced peers.
Avantor is looking for an experienced Sr. Operator to optimize our Performance Materials team, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives. This role will be a full-time position based out of our Paris, KY facility. You will have the opportunity prepare, setup, weigh, package, fill, and label bulk materials in accordance with cGMP, procedures. This also includes operating production scales, including verification and calibrations, and handling hazardous materials using all appropriate and mandatory safety gear. - Education: High school diploma required
- Experience: 3+ years in cGMP manufacturing environment, along with general understanding of semi-automated and/or automated equipment is preferred
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Perform manufacturing and assembly of products in accordance with written production records while observing appropriate safety guidelines.
- Required to review and recommend changes to technical documentation, including batch records, WI's and SOP's.
- Operating bottling lines and packaging when needed.
- Learn to sample tankers, prep returnable containers, material handle, and take particle counts when needed.
- Weigh, measure, blend and check liquid and chemical raw materials to assure batches manufactured contain proper materials and quantities.
- Maintain proper production records to comply with requirements (ISO 9001:2000, SOP's and Work Instructions).
- Properly operate chemical operating equipment, transfer pumps, blenders/mixers and conveying equipment with proficiency, including the cleaning and upkeep of equipment.
- Understanding of advance chemical processes from start to finish.
- Properly operate material monitoring devices and weighing systems, including calibration, cleaning and upkeep.
- Properly use safety and environmental control systems, including dust collection and scrubbing devices to ensure proper operation, including cleaning and upkeep.
- Maintain equipment and rooms in proper operating condition by following daily cleaning requirements.
- Perform activities in controlled environment, while assuring the use of appropriate PPE equipment.
- Train associates and evaluate progress on operation of equipment and chemical processes, including safety procedures and proper handling of materials.
- Provide leadership and good work ethics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
