Position Purpose

The Market Loss Prevention and Safety Manager is responsible for safeguarding company assets, reducing shrink, and ensuring a safe and secure environment across multiple retail locations within their assigned market. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to implement effective loss prevention and safety programs that align with the company's operational goals and compliance standards.

THIS ROLE OVERSEES THE STORE LOCATIONS IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND ROCKY MOUNTAINS MARKETS AND MUST BE BASED IN THE SEATTLE, WA AREA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement loss prevention strategies to minimize shrink, theft, and fraud within the assigned market.

  • Analyze shrink data and trends to identify risks and develop action plans for improvement.

  • Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Promote a culture of safety by implementing and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.

  • Drive safety culture and injury reduction across center store, services and veterinary services partners.

  • Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections across all locations within the market.

  • Ensure safe shopping environment for our customers and prevent general liability claims.

  • Drive Workplace Violence awareness and respond quickly to threats or trends.

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for accidents, thefts, and policy violations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Deliver safety training and education programs for employees, emphasizing hazard awareness and injury prevention.

  • Provide guidance and support to store managers on loss prevention and safety initiatives.

  • Partner with HR, legal, and operations teams to address internal investigations and ensure fair resolution.

  • Maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement and community organizations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for loss prevention and safety matters within the market.

  • Drive safety culture and injury reduction across center store, services and veterinary services partners.

  • Ensure safe shopping environment for our customers and reduce general liability claims.

  • Drive Workplace Violence awareness and respond quickly to threats or trends.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in loss prevention, asset protection, or safety management within a retail environment, including multi-unit or regional oversight.

  • Loss Prevention Certification (LPC), W/Z certification, and Interview/interrogation experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, safety regulations, and investigation techniques.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in loss prevention technologies, reporting tools, and safety management systems.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
