Job Title:Workforce Development Coordinator Location: Metairie, LA Position Overview: The Workforce Development Coordinator supports the design, coordination, and delivery of workforce training and development initiatives across Bollinger Shipyards. This role assists in implementing programs that attract, train, and retain skilled workers through partnerships, with technical schools, workforce agencies, and internal training centers. The position plays a key role in ensuring that workforce development activities align with company objectives, training standards, and the long-term growth of the organization's talent pipeline. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule workforce training programs, apprenticeship classes, and Bootcamp sessions.
- Serve as a liaison between Bollinger Shipyards, technical schools, workforce boards, and community partners.
- Track attendance, certification status, and training completions in support of program reporting requirements.
- Assist in developing training materials, presentations, and learning resources for instructors and participants.
- Maintain accurate documentation of participant progress, program outcomes, and budget expenditures.
- Support onboarding processes for new trainees, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and HR requirements.
- Help organize workforce outreach events, job fairs, and school visits to promote company programs.
- Collect data and prepare periodic reports on training metrics, workforce participation, and program effectiveness.
- Provide general administrative support to the Workforce Development Manager, HR, and Talent Acquisition teams.
* Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements. * Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract candidates. * Supports the Organization in making presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and production/craft opportunities. Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of HR, Workforce Development, Educational, or relevant experience required.
* Travels as needed. Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, economic development, training grants, etc.
- Strong proficiency in MS office programs such as MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments with external partners.
- Strong attention to detail and record keeping accuracy
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of handling confidential information appropriately.
- Comfort working in both office and industrial environments.
- Ability to travel to supporting facilities.
- Works well within a Team environment.
