About this Position

ChristianaCare is looking for a Program Manager to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for the Emergency Departments. This position will work in close partnership with Emergency Medicine Service Line Leaders, ED Nurse Managers and Medical Directors to ensure seamless clinical and administrative operations, drive service line initiatives, and support strategic projects. The manager will maintain strong interdepartmental relationships, monitor key performance indicators, and manage a project portfolio.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Manage daily operations of the Emergency Department in collaboration with clinical leadership.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
  • Serve as a liaison between departments to promote coordination and communication.
  • Assist with strategic planning for Emergency Medicine Service Line.
  • Supports fiscal and capital planning for Emergency Medicine Service Line.
  • Collaborates with leaders on EMSL strategy in the areas of service line development, enhancement of current services, and development of new services.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates clear and professional communication with caregivers and external customers.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment through active engagement, conflict resolution, and shred goal setting.

Project Execution & Support

  • Lead and support projects impacting the ED service line.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track progress and ensure timely execution of initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Support meeting and presentation preparation and execution.
  • Research best practice standards & stays informed regarding current and emerging issues and trends in Emergency Medicine and the healthcare industry.

Data Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics, patient experience scores, and clinical outcomes.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards to inform leadership and guide decision-making.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Use internal and external data and benchmarking to establish best practices, targets, timelines and metrics for projects.
  • Helps develop tools and processes to improve patient and caregiver experience.

Relationship Management

  • Foster collaborative relationships with nursing, provider, and administrative teams.
  • Represent operations in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Other

  • Collaborates and supports Director Campus Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Master's degree preferred.

Three (3) to Five (5) years of results-oriented experience in healthcare operations, financial management and project management experience required. Healthcare, specifically operations experience is highly desirable.

Strong Daily Operations and Project Management skills with experience in leading cross-functional initiatives.

Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
