Description

The Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Community Relationships Manager to join the Operation Mend Department. Operation Mend is a one of a kind program in the nation,, providing specialized surgical and psychological care for veterans, service members, and their care givers. We are seeking a Community Relationships Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing our mission, building strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering community awareness, and supporting philanthropic growth. You will strengthen partnerships across the veteran service communities, and ensure the program continues to provide timely, high-quality care for those we serve. Primary duties include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies, veteran serving organizations, and community partners
  • Serve as a key representative of Operation Mend at public events and with the Board of Advisors
  • Collaborate with other UCLA departments and campus partners to align outreach and fundraising strategies
  • Support donor cultivation, proposals,, and stewardship efforts to meet financial and philanthropic goals
  • Communicate program outcomes and patient experience to stakeholders and partners
Salary range: $86,400/yr - $184,800/yr
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Community Leadership and Development, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience executing fundraising strategies, tactics, and best practices
  • Experience working with external relations, public affairs,, or a similar partnership-focused role
  • Professional-level writing skills for donor/prospect communications, reports, presentations,, and concise, grammatically correct correspondence
  • Proven ability to establish and strengthen professional relationships with diverse teams, individuals, and stakeholders at all organization levels
  • Ability to foster a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment, inviting participation from multiple perspectives in planning and evaluation of initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day to day project planning and execution across the project lifecycle
  • High-functioning team skills, including active listening, rapport building, and consensus building in decision-making
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to provide clear updates and identify barriers
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to apply systems-level thinking and craft innovative solutions in collaboration with stakeholders
