About this Opportunity:

Early Childhood Attachment Services is designed to provide home based parent-infant support and clinical intervention services to families where the parent's condition and life circumstances, or the characteristics of the infant, threaten the parent-infant attachment and consequent social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development of the infant. Services are designed to reduce the incidence and prevalence of abuse, neglect, developmental delays, behavioral issues, and emotional disturbances.

Would you like to help us accomplish our mission as an Intern?

Our ideal candidate must be enrolled in a master's social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy program at a university. Additional requirements include: knowledge of child development, a non-judgmental approach that reflects cultural sensitivity to the unique and diverse experiences of families served, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative. Must demonstrate competencies in the following areas: observation of parent/child interaction, developmental assessment, diagnostic skills, understanding of the parallel process in therapeutic work, and collaboration with internal and external providers. The ability to provide effective individual, family, and group therapy skills. A valid driver's license, good driving record and adequate insurance with a car available at all times.
