The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Financial Aid is the chief administrator responsible for planning, developing, administration and delivery of all student aid programs, including analyzing and forecasting how funds are utilized. The Executive Director provides leadership, strategic direction and coordination to make certain the College remains compliant with Federal and State regulations and in coordination with the College's strategic goals. The Executive Director also provides leadership and direction to Financial Aid staff and provides subject-matter expertise within the department and across the College to maintain compliance and assure maximum funding and continued participation in all student financial assistance programs. The position requires positive, ongoing engagement with a number of constituencies including internal departments of the College, external groups and various regulatory agencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide overall leadership to the Office of Financial Aid and to the campuses on all financial assistance programs; ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations with packaging policies and procedures for awarding federal and institutional aid, state and institutional scholarships, and student loans. *Manage institutional scholarship budgets and student appeals committees while considering input of academic leadership in the process. *Lead and supervise staff in the student financial aid office to work collaboratively with other campus offices and to train them on policies, regulations, and excellent customer service strategies. *Develop and coordinate programming related to financial aid and financing options, including Open Houses, High School visits, orientation sessions, entrance and exit counseling, and financial management workshops. *Advise and recommend to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid on aid policy issues effecting the students and be able to implement changes identified to maximize leveraging of aid and operations. *Oversee federal campus-based student aid programs and coordinate the annual filing of the FISAP form and A-133 Audit. *Coordinate disbursement issues with Student Accounts and other University offices. *Complete all survey instruments in coordination with the Institutional Research Office. *Serve on University committees as assigned. *Other duties as assigned.
