Acara Solutions have a contract to hire position available (after 90 days) in Canonsburg, PA Advanced Systems Engineer - Control Account Manager
This position supports advanced defense and aerospace programs and requires strong experience in
inventory control, material management, tracking, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
Position Summary:
The Advanced Systems Engineer will play a key role in planning, organizing, and tracking engineering and material resources for both new product development and system upgrades. This position owns the EVM process and manages the control accounts that drive program performance, ensuring alignment between cost, schedule, and technical objectives. The role acts as a bridge between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to maintain efficient and effective program execution.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Control Account Manager (CAM) for assigned Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Lead EVM processes, ensuring accurate cost tracking, performance reporting, and compliance.
- Develop and manage program schedules, milestones, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support material procurement and ensure timely resource availability.
- Track and report inventory, materials, and procurement activities to maintain production schedules.
- Review and analyze project data and metrics to guide program execution and resolve issues proactively.
- Support proposal efforts by developing cost estimates, identifying risks, and defining execution strategies.
- Maintain and update Bills of Material (BOM) with inputs from engineering and supply chain.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs between departments, ensuring dependencies and deliverables are met.
- Integrate risk mitigation activities into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and track progress.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with inventory control, material management, and tracking.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with EVM program execution.

- Master's Degree
- Organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including spreadsheets; Project scheduling applications like MS Project.
- Ability to delegate skills and provide updates for local stakeholders.
- Good time management and analytical skills.

- Good background in electrical/mechanical systems, and systems engineering.
- Good understanding of how the technical solution supports mission objectives and requirements.
