Come join Johns Hopkins Health System as our next Director of Entity Communications. This position oversees strategic internal and external communications for a designated Johns Hopkins Medicine hospital or entity. This role leads an integrated communications program to strengthen visibility, reputation, and alignment with JHM's mission and goals. The Director manages a multidisciplinary team, collaborates across the JHM Communications department, and ensures consistency and impact of all messaging and initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and executing strategic campaigns, managing issues and crisis communications, and evaluating performance to drive engagement, diversity, and organizational excellence.

What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communication, journalism, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years relared experience required, including 3 years at a leadership level.
  • Top quality mastery of communications, including exemplary written communications skills. Specific knowledge of communications principles and practices, market research and analysis, strategic planning, crisis communications best practices, and program development required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in creating, implementing and measuring strategic communications plans and measurement techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge related to implementation, engagement and deployment of relevant shared marketing and communications expert services, functions and tools (such as social media, websites, media relations, content development, webinars/events, video production, graphic design, employee communications, etc.) necessary to collaborate with other specialized areas of the institutional communications and marketing teams to implement plans and strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership, conflict resolution and change management principles.
  • Understanding of market research and market analysis functions and relation to communication strategy and execution.
  • Experience in managing crisis communications.
  • Experience with various communication methods and channels, including social media, and an ability to create channel- and audience-relevant content. Demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with Government and Community Affairs and Development colleagues to achieve shared goals.

Salary Range: Minimum 102,066.00/annually - Maximum 156,853.00/annually Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
