The salary range for this role is:

$66,336.66 - $109,432.93

Responsibilities:

Target salary range is $68k to $85k and dependent upon experience.

The Sanitation Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the sanitation team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This role manages sanitation schedules, verifies cleaning effectiveness, and partners closely with Quality Assurance and Production to maintain compliance with FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP requirements. The Supervisor is responsible for training employees on proper cleaning and chemical handling procedures, maintaining sanitation supplies, and driving continuous improvement in food safety and plant hygiene.

  • Supervise and direct daily activities of the sanitation team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and company food safety and sanitation policies, including GMPs and HACCP requirements.
  • Inspect production areas, equipment, and sanitation practices to verify cleaning effectiveness and address corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams to prevent contamination, allergen cross-contact, and ensure compliance with audit standards.
  • Order, manage, and monitor sanitation chemicals, supplies, and PPE in alignment with safety requirements.
  • Provide training to employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety practices.
  • Lead sanitation-related investigations and corrective action plans when issues arise.
  • Monitor and report sanitation performance metrics, including labor hours, chemical usage, and audit results.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and promote a strong safety culture within the sanitation team.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor's degree in food science, Biology, or related field preferred.

Years of Experience

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or sanitation preferred.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (GMPs, HACCP, FSMA, etc.).
  • Experience with sanitation chemicals, cleaning systems, and safety practices.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-volume food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Work performed in a manufacturing/production facility with exposure to wet, humid, and cold environments.
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • May require working evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays depending on production needs.
