Job Description
Primary Purpose
We're building the future of North American energy infrastructure, and we need a sharp, strategic communicator to help tell that story. Reporting to the Senior Manager of External Communications, this role will help develop and execute integrated communications efforts that showcase our portfolio of projects, celebrate our people and highlight our community impact while protecting and enhancing our corporate reputation.
This position will be responsible for supporting a broad range of communications activities, from narrative development to content creation and digital campaigns, and will also serve as a key connector across external affairs and other internal stakeholder groups to ensure messaging is consistent and aligned.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications campaigns that elevate Sempra Infrastructure's projects and social investment, delivering clear, compelling messages across diverse audiences and platforms.
- Partner closely with the Senior External Communications Manager to support high-impact corporate initiatives-including major announcements, media training, narrative development, strategic planning and awards programs.
- Produce a wide range of external communications materials, from talking points and holding statements to video scripts, blog posts, FAQs and project fact sheets.
- Lead and support the development of generating fresh content ideas for SI's digital and social channels and implement best practices to further enhance content strategy across platforms.
- Provide expert-level support to the team with crisis communications planning and response, including drafting reactive statements, coordinating with internal stakeholders and ensuring timely, accurate messaging during high-stakes situations.
- Lead continuous improvement of project landing pages and SharePoint platforms, ensuring content is accurate and aligned with brand standards and messaging priorities.
- Monitor and analyze communications performance, translating insights into actionable recommendations that strengthen future campaigns and outreach.
- Serves as a liaison with external agencies, vendors and contractors to ensuring alignment, efficiency and measurable outcomes across all communications activities.
- Act as a connector across the organization, working with internal teams and the broader External Affairs group to align messaging, share insights and maintain messaging consistency.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field, or the equivalent combination of training and/or experience. Required
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields. Required
- Energy or related industry experience is a plus. Preferred
- Public company and/or agency experience. Preferred
- Experience in managing communications during crises situations, with an understanding of crisis communication best practices, stakeholder engagement and reputation management. Preferred

- Expertise in developing and executing strategic communications plans, with exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills. Advanced
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to provide strategic counsel and support high-impact communication efforts Advanced
- Strategic communicator who can simplify complex topics and craft compelling narratives across a variety of formats and for diverse audiences. Advanced
- Self-starter with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Advanced
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information, including financial disclosures, earnings communications and regulatory filings, with an understanding of public company protocols and SEC guidelines. Advanced
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams, influence stakeholders and manage external partners. Advanced
- Strong understanding communications and social media best practices. Advanced
- Proficiency in SharePoint and communications tools (e.g. Cision, Sprout, Canva). Advanced
Other Qualifications
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.

$99,000.00 - $148,500.00 / year
