What to Expect Tesla is seeking an experienced Program Controls & Systems Lead with a proven track record in managing large-scale capital and operational expenditure programs. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, business process improvement, and systems optimization to support Finance and Business operations across our global organization. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience in program controls, project delivery, and financial systems, with the ability to navigate complexity, foster cross-functional alignment, and deliver measurable impact through process automation and data-driven insights. What You'll Do Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of program controls for CapEx and OpEx initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and financial objectives Drive business process improvements, automation, and system enhancements, integrating financial systems to support efficient and scalable global operations Collaborate with stakeholders to document current-state processes and leverage data to identify high-impact areas for improvement Develop comprehensive proposals for policy, process, system, and organizational structure changes that drive efficiency, compliance, and scalability Present recommendations and business cases to senior and executive leadership with clear justifications and measurable outcomes Oversee program life cycle from requirements gathering to development, testing, and implementation, ensuring timely delivery and risk mitigation Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor project performance and success, making data-backed adjustments as needed What You'll Bring Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in program controls, project management, or systems analysis, with deep exposure to CapEx and OpEx programs and cross-functional global initiatives Strong financial and operational expertise, including cost management, resource planning, financial systems, and process automation, with a track record of delivering results in finance and accounting programs Analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data, extract insights, and drive continuous improvement through informed, timely actions Proactive, data-driven and solution-oriented approach, with a strong work ethic, natural problem-solving ability, and a clear bias for action in dynamic, fast-paced environments Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to present to executive leadership, align stakeholders, and translate complexity into clarity Collaborative relationship builder, skilled at connecting dots and people to foster global partnerships, drive alignment, and sustain momentum across teams and functions Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $100,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
