Primary Purpose of Job

This role is balanced between overseeing daily operations, executing Payment Processing initiatives, engaging with cross functional partners to drive efficiencies, participating in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with rules and regulations and developing teammates.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Coordinates support conducts training and directs Payment Processing to meet all processing deadlines, service level agreements and goals. Measures productivity of the team and prepares reports for management.
  • Serves as the Payment Processing subject matter expert by keeping abreast of rules and regulations to maintain proficient knowledge and awareness of regulatory and legislative developments and industry trends. Advises internal teams and provides Payment Processing expertise on projects.
  • Fosters strong working relationships with technology and vendors to diagnose and resolve problems, coordinates testing related to system upgrades and disaster recovery exercises and collaborates with internal stakeholder on Payment Processing related product offerings.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements operational changes to improve accuracy and efficiency. Actively participates in user groups to enhance the systems used by the team. Prepares budget, tracks variances, and maintains a current library of procedures and workflows.
  • Coordinates collection of requested samples and risk assessment documents for internal and external auditors, participates in audits and takes the lead on walkthroughs.
  • Directs a team of high-performing and engaged employees through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance; provide coaching and corrective action as required; actively support teammates professional growth and development.

Experience Required

  • Minimum four (4) years of Bank operations or teller experience

Required Skills or Training

  • Schedule and organize staffing needs based on production requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and people skills.
  • Experience with process improvement framework.
  • Ability to effectively communicate related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Must be able to organize, perform complex analyses, conceptualize innovative ideas, interpret applicable laws and regulations and other technical matters, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Detailed oriented and deadline driven, with the ability to prioritize, focus, and thrive in a high paced multi-tasking environment.
  • Recognizes and identifies problems or issues, develops solutions and recommendations to solve the situation internally or with vendors.
  • Able to prioritize work, meet critical deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.

Professional Certifications, Licenses, And/or Registration Requirements

  • National Check Professional (NCP) Certification preferred
