Air Products Field Service Technicians are provided with a company truck and tools to enable servicing cryogenic and bulk gaseous systems at our customer sites. This includes pressure vessels, vaporizers, flow, level and pressure control instrumentation, pumps, compressors, Hydrogen Fueling systems, and Ultra High Purity purification skids. You will be responsible for providing the vital technical and hands-on support for installation of new systems, and maintenance of existing systems. The successful candidate for this role must be safety-focused, self-motivated, able to work independently, and a good communicator with excellent communication skills.

This individual will be required to demonstrate very high standards of safety performance, both while performing activities at systems or customer sites, and while driving company vehicle. As employees that have the highest exposure and insight to our customers and public, Field Maintenance & Services Technicians are encouraged to present a professional appearance, exude confidence, and always represent Air Products in a positive manner.

This position requires after-hours availability with response to customer service situations 24/7 as required. Occasional travel of one to five days may be required. Weekend work is rare but, is on an as needed basis. Area of responsibility for this region includes Arizona, Colorado, Southern Nevada, and New Mexico. There may also be requirement for occasional support in areas outside your normal and primary coverage territory.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Highly cross functional, requiring effective relationships and influence within Gardner and in the greater Air Products organization in order to achieve results
  • Demonstrate Safety proficiency and willingness to learn and grow with new technologies.
  • Possess and demonstrate independence and strong internal and external customer interface skills and proficiency.
  • Experience in electrical, instrumentation, and PLC maintenance and solving is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic and gaseous delivery systems is a plus.
  • Previous Brazing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrate quality brazing techniques and efficiently acquiring certification are mandatory.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, bill of materials, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings, and electrical controls schematics.
  • Practice accurate cost reporting for both materials and labor expenditures.
  • Gain understanding of the properties, behavior, and hazards of the products he/she is likely to encounter.
  • Maintain parts and tool inventories to ensure proficient and successful task completions in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrate and practice safe work practices and consistency to procedures.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalency is required with Technical or Military experience preferred.
  • 5 plus years' maintenance / installation experience is required.
  • Willingness to travel with some overnight stays.
  • Must be proficient in the safe use of hand and hand powers tools, commonly used with installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment deficiencies.
  • Service truck road test is required along with a clear MVR and good driving record.
  • Digital literacy is required to perform projects and other day-to-day duties.
  • Exposure to maintaining pneumatic systems, pumps, pressure vessels, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors is preferred.

Military Personnel are encouraged to apply!! Experience in military roles such as a Machinist Mate, Electricians Mate, Electronic Technician, Aircraft Maintenance or Cryogenic Technician would be well suited for this role.

Technical School Graduates are encouraged to apply! Degrees in areas of Process or Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, Electrical Power and Controls, Electromechanical Technology, and HVAC would be well suited for this role.
