Role Summary:

This executive-level role is responsible for the end-to-end management of FIS's global telecom and backbone infrastructure, with a focus on centralizing operations, driving cost efficiencies, and enhancing resiliency across the enterprise network. The position reports directly to the Global Head of Network and Data Center Strategy and plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of FIS's network architecture and operations.

The Network Telecomm Backbone Executive is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of a global telecom and backbone infrastructure. This role ensures secure, scalable, and cost-effective connectivity across all enterprise systems, aligning with business goals and digital transformation initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

Telecom Management

  • Lead the centralization of telecom functions across business units
  • Eliminate duplication and reduce excessive spend (current OPEX exceeds $120M)
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and implement unified processes for design, implementation, and management

Backbone/Core Infrastructure Oversight

  • Own the global backbone infrastructure that supports all leveraged services
  • Ensure reliable, resilient connectivity across FIS's global operations

Global Data Center Connectivity

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data center interconnectivity
  • Partner on site selection and infrastructure migration, reducing physical footprint and simplifying the network environment

What you Bring:

  • 15+ years in telecom/network leadership, with 5+ years in an executive role
  • Deep knowledge of WAN/LAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure), and telecom billing systems
  • Proven ability to lead large, distributed teams and manage $100M+ budgets
  • Ability to align network strategy with enterprise digital transformation goals
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence C-level stakeholders
  • Executive-level telecom leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in sourcing, finance, and contract negotiation
  • Proven background in Colocation (Colo), Data Center strategy, and Telecom Expense Management
  • Strong understanding of billing systems and inventory controls

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $205,900.00 - $345,930.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
