Job Summary
-
Support all programs and services offered by the ESL Department/ESL Center and assist the ESL director, staff, faculty, instructors, and students with day to day activities including but not limited to the Intensive English Program (IEP), CEA accreditation, ESL courses, and community engagement.

Essential Duties
-
Maintains electronic databases, enters and retrieves information, writes queries to produce special reports supporting accreditation, student enrollment, marketing, and other ESL services.
Maintains ESL student files and testing information and enters this information into an ESL student database.
Assists with ESL placement testing and student enrollments including introducing the test, monitoring testing, scoring tests, and enrolling students.
Supports the ESL scholarships by sharing information with students, and maintaining spreadsheets with application and award information.
Creates a welcoming environment for students, staff, & faculty by organizing the ESL Center area and providing language and cultural support.
Assists instructors and faculty with scanning, copying, creating certificates, classroom setup, and other academic support services.
Creates the ESL booklet & flyers and prepares correspondence, graphs, charts, reports, marketing materials, and mailouts using various software.
Provides factual information concerning department policies and procedures to instructors, students and other departments.
Orders and receives supplies, maintains inventory, manages desk copies for instructors.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Associate's degree or equivalent education in Business Administration, management, Communications, or other fields. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
3 years office administration or administrative assistant experience.
Intercultural verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with others.
1 year of related experience, preferably in higher education or ESL.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual with ability to interpret and translate

Preferred Qualifications

1 year in accounting, bookkeeping, or excel spreadsheet proficiency.
