Description
The Department of Medicine at UCLA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fund Manager to provide comprehensive financial oversight for the Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center. This key role supports both pre- and post-award administration, playing a vital part in advancing groundbreaking clinical research. The Fund Manager will lead all aspects of grant and contract management, including budget development, proposal submission, and ongoing financial analysis for a diverse portfolio of federal, state, industry, and private funding sources. Responsibilities include preparing detailed financial reports, projections, and analyses; maintaining both manual and electronic financial systems; and ensuring compliance with university and sponsor regulations. You will serve as a strategic partner to CARE faculty, representing their interests in all funding-related matters, coordinating research activities, and facilitating long-range planning for salaries, staffing, and operational expenses. This position also plays a central role in the division's financial health by proactively managing award budgets, overseeing post-award administration, minimizing overdrafts, and streamlining accounting operations. The Fund Manager will represent the division in departmental and campus-wide funding meetings and contribute to improving internal processes through policy recommendations and system enhancements.
