*The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the Role

The Transportation Planner, CPU is a key part of the Novolex Supply Chain organization. In this role you will manage the transportation execution of one or multiple shipping locations in our network. This will require an individual who is a self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a "business owner" mentality.   • Build and maintain both customer and carrier relationships to support the business.
  • Facilitate and manage pick-up requests from carriers via Appointment Manager system (FourKites).
  • Hold carriers accountable for on-time pick-up and maintaining trailer pools to execute drop appointments.
  • Monitor live loading activity and drive conversations with Customer Service/Sales to reinforce drop policy.
  • Work directly with regional operations liaison(s) on any programs to support the business.
  • Partner and collaborate with other supply chain functions (Customer Service, Operations, Supply Chain Planning, etc.) on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Work with regional operations liaison(s) to ensure efficient and timely execution of loads.
  • Cross-train and provide coverage for Transportation Planners on Capacity and Services teams.

What We Need From You

Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of logistics/customer service experience
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work comfortably in a collaborative team environment
  • A "can do" attitude and the drive to back it up



Preferred



  • BA/BS in Logistics or Business
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with Transportation Management System applications (BlueYonder/JDA preferred)
  • Experience with transportation visibility software (FourKites preferred)
  • Experience with on-line dock/appointment scheduling software
  • Previous experience with Tableau
