Job Details

The Neuroscience Program at Dickinson College invites applications for a long-term, lecturer position beginning Fall 2026. Lecturers are responsible for supporting the College's mission through effective teaching in their field of expertise and professional service as appropriate to their rank. They are long-term, non-tenure track instructors who are reviewed in their second and fourth year at the College, with the opportunity for promotion to Senior Lecturer in their sixth year. Area of specialty is open. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching an introductory Brain and Behavior (with lab) course, a neuroscience foundation course, Perspectives in Neuroscience (with lab), and courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The candidate will be expected to develop and teach an introductory statistics course, Statistics for the Life Sciences. Teaching load is six courses per year, and courses with labs count as two courses. While maintaining an active research program is not expected, opportunities to engage in summer research is available, if desired. A state-of-the-art small animal vivarium is available.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience (or closely related field). We expect a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment and the ability to involve undergraduates in research. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
